About Us

Country Cooking

Ernie and Cathy Pasch opened the doors of Ladysmith Hotel on May 1st, 1999. The original building was built in 1918 by Theo Bretzlaff, who also was Ernie's great-great-uncle. Originally the hotel hosted guests from all over the Ottawa Valley in its rooms, was home to the Ladysmith post office and a bank. The hotel has seen many generations of different families since it was built, it only seems natural that the Pasch’s would now be the owner of what Ernie's family built over 100 years ago. The restaurant features home-cooked meals and hosts parties of all kinds. Outstanding meals include our famous hand-breaded chicken wings, fish and chips, and weekend specials. We are also the home of the Ladysmith Sportsman Club, for hunters and anglers alike.

The Owners

Ernie and Cathy Pasch both grew up in the Pontiac. Ernie, a stone throws away from the Hotel and Cathy down the highway in Charteris. After many years of commuting for work, they decided they needed a change and to be closer to home. The Hotel loomed in Ladysmith, empty after the previous owners had closed the doors and a great opportunity presented itself to Ernie and Cathy.  On May 1st, 1999 they officially reopened the restaurant and bar as the new owners and never looked back. They have enjoyed over 20 years of success due to their friendly service and deliciously filling food.
